There has been no photo-taking for a little while nowI've only had time for quick stolen moments while doing other things Trying to get back in to the swing of working full time again is difficult! Hopefully a work/life balance will figure itself out soon... until then, here's an outfit that I really enjoyed wearing last weekend Surrounded by greenery & dappled light
Okay I'm probably going to change the name of this series because I don't like the word "duds", but for now that was the catchiest thing I could come up with! I'm so bad at coming up with names for things... Anyway; I have been meaning to draw my outfits and include them in blog posts for the looooongest time, I think it was one of my first ideas when I started this blog and I don't really know whats stopped me doing it??? SO I'M DOING IT NOW!
These are my new favourite trousers. Surprisingly they're from New Look!? I haven't bought anything from there in years. I guess you just grow out of/ graduate from different brands as you get older, and never ever did I think I'd find anything I liked from there again. But low and behold! Grey checked trousers of my (affordable) dreams! They are super comfy, and super high waisted and super flattering for my shape. SUPERRR.
1.Black roll neck top - h&m, very old 2. Moon brooch - Judys Affordable Vintage Fair, Cambridge 3. Brown belt - Levis, similar 4. Grey tailored check trousers - Asos, New Look 5. Bottle green brogues - Clarks, similar
Do you find you avoid/don't shop with certain brands anymore as you get older?
Harry's cousin got married a couple of days ago at a beautiful old Manor House in Yeovil; Brympton House. Pictures of that will be coming soon! I ended up (completely subconsciously, I promise) dressing as a shiny gold nutcracker, oops! I've had this jacket near on 7 years now and I've only worn it a handful of times out of self consciousness. I looked at it hanging in my wardrobe the week before the wedding and thought to myself "wow Meg, you are so silly" and decided to pair it with this brand new gold swing dress from Joy. Which I will probably also be wearing Christmas Day because; why not! It's shiny and gold! I will say - it does nothing for me without a belt, though. Swing dresses DO NOT suit my shape at all.
On a different note - Happy Christmas everyone! This may well be my last blog post of 2016... I hope everyone has a food and family/friend filled day XOXOX 1. Jacket - H&M 2. Gold swing dress - Joy 3. Belt - Levi's 4. Tights - Monki 5. Bottle green brogues - Clarks
For me, summer is never complete unless I've had a day at the beach. I don't even mind if it's not warm enough to wip my bikini out, or if my freshly cut hair gets a tad swept up by the wind. It's just such a good feeling to have sand underneath my feet and a sea to dip them in to. It actually wasn't as cold as it looks, either!
Harry's brother is back home for a few days, so we decided to squeeze the entire family in to the car, picnic and all, and drive down the Aldeburgh for the day. It's was a bit grey and windy, so I decided to go for a loose-ish pair of jeans that I could roll up if I wanted to paddle in the sea, and layers that I could easily shed if it got warmer. All of the clothes I'm wearing are at least 3 years old, apart from the scarf that was a birthday present. Someone take me shopping, stat!
All in all it was a lovely day out, aaand I got my beach fix. For now.
